One could select half a dozen Anfield assets this week if allowed.

Wolves failed to score for the 10th time so far in a recent two-nil defeat at Molineux to the Bees.

The Midlands side have a paltry nine strikes in total, including a couple away from home. This is as safe a shutout bet imaginable.

Omar Alderete, Sunderland, £4m – vs Leeds United (H).

Even with Leeds United's improved offensive form – including the performances of Dominic Calvert-Lewin – I'm backing a Sunderland shutout at home.

This would secure their third in a row and the Paraguayan defender becoming a prime value defensive pick. You can start him regularly in most games, given his potential for defensive contribution returns.

Midfield

Mason Mount, Manchester United, £5.9m – vs Newcastle (H).

The English midfielder is expected to take on a significant role at Manchester United over the coming fixtures, due to their Portuguese maestro suffering an injury.

Morgan Rogers, Villa, £7.2m – vs Chelsea (A).

With 30 points across two gameweeks, the midfielder's form is impossible to ignore.

He is Villa's talisman, with an ability to creating a strike from the smallest room inside the area.

A fixture at Stamford Bridge may appear a challenging proposition, the Birmingham club have emerged victorious at that ground in two of the last three campaigns.

Strikers
