The number of victims due to the transport jet that burst into flames and plummeted has now climbed to 13, per official reports.
City Leader's Announcement

Probe Updates
Federal officials announced that the freight aircraft’s left wing caught fire and an engine separated just after departure from the aviation hub, causing the plane to plummet and burst into a fireball.
The NTSB stated it is examining the plane’s service record, which was in Texas for fixes a period before the crash.
Aviation records indicated the plane was on the ground in that location from early September to mid-October.
“We are knowledgeable that this aircraft was there in the facility,” said an NTSB member on later, without a specific date range. “We will examine all elements of repairs that was done, from the Texas period, straight to the time of the journey.”
Retrieval of Vital Evidence
The pilot’s recorder and information unit were recovered, and the power plant was discovered on the tarmac.
The recorders – referred to as data containers – were built to survive crash impacts and extreme fire from blazes, and they seemed to be in one piece when found amid the remains. Authorities plan on examining data from the black boxes.
Jet’s final recorded information indicated an height of 475 ft and a speed of 210 miles per hour ahead of the crash.
Service Record
Per aviation authority documents dated last month, a fracture on a structural piece in the center wing fuel tank needed repairs.
Headquartered in Singapore ST Engineering, which said it provides airframe maintenance for the carrier’s aircraft and manages a maintenance center in Texas, refused to speak, but expressed it would work closely when officials contacted it.
Services Resume
In the meantime, UPS Worldport services continued Wednesday night with its overnight also known as nighttime procedure, spokesperson a representative stated. The three landing strips at the airport were also back in operation.
The UPS package handling facility in Louisville is the firm’s most significant. The facility hires in excess of twenty thousand workers in the area, processes three hundred aircraft daily and sorts over four hundred thousand packages per hour.
Local Support
A candlelight vigil was organized on the evening of that date by the regional worker’s group, which represents workers at the airfield, the company’s largest freight center.
The union chapter, which supports staff, commenced the memorial with a moment of silence at the evening hour, the approximate moment of the accident before.
“This tragedy was so unexpected, so unexpected,” the official spoke to the assembly of attendees. “No one had a moment to say goodbye to any one of those who we have lost.”
