The Ideal Pokémon Tales: Z-A Mega Evolution According to the Astrological Sign
This return of Super Forms in Pokémon Legends: Z-A has sparked immense excitement across the fandom. Starting with the one-by-one unveiling of newcomers ahead of the game's launch, to trainers developing firm views on the entire roster of Mega Evolutions, there's a lot for enthusiasts to look forward to.
Given many of the Mega Evolutions boasting unique appearances that highlight their personalities, one thought came to mind: How can connect this with zodiac signs? This list is based on a mix of intuition, common zodiac traits, and individual observations.
The Ram – Mega Camerupt
To be truthful, Houndoom was nearly chosen for Aries, as both are the Mega Pokémon and astrological sign that inspire the greatest apprehension. However, a Super Houndoom comes across as constantly angry, which isn't typical of the Ram's energy, renowned for being fun, cheerful, and spontaneous. That's why the Ram far more similar to Mega Camerupt, which only erupts when angered. Stay on the good side of either and benefit from a strong ally; should you offend them, prepare to get burned.
Taurus – Mega Heracross
Much like a devoted Bull, the reliable Heracross, both in its standard and Super Form, has aided many players in Legends: Z-A. While dependable, both the Pokémon and a Bull are still battle-oriented, and – whether it's their trainer or a strong opinion – will defend their position unwaveringly. What about Super Heracross that reminds me most of my Taurus friends, though, is its unabashed love of snacks. Many previous official descriptions note their craving for tasty sap and how it uses its horn to hoard it everything, which is pure Taurus energy.
Gemini – Super Medicham
Observe this absolute queen. It's impossible to convince me this Pokémon is not the life of every party, providing an endless fountain of gossip to those who wish to hear. Much like an captivating, gregarious Twins, it's very simple to envision Mega Medicham captivating an entire open area with their tales. This Pokémon's official description also states its capacity to foresee an enemy’s future actions, which seems quite like a people-smart Gemini.
The Crab – Super Manectric
The Crab is widely considered as the most emotional sign of the zodiac, a passionate symbol known for often getting absorbed in their emotions. According to the Pokédex, Super Evolution charges the Pokémon with a “huge quantity of electricity, but it's too much for this Pokémon to fully control,” which seems a lot like a classic Cancer emotional outburst. It is also recognized for its capability to create a thundercloud over its very self – and if there’s a single trait a Crab is going to do, it’s rain on their good time.
The Lion – Super Starmie
Well, did you assume I was planning to select the lion Pokémon for the king of the zodiac? Aside from the reality that it would be far too on the nose, Leo is obviously Super Starmie, the diva whose gams just went viral for being extremely fabulous (or terrifying, depending on your taste). Fans couldn’t look away from the violet starfish, and that’s precisely the same energy a Lion offers to the scene. This Pokémon is also said to be broadcasting signals from its red core out into space, and it’s just like a Leo to be staging a show, albeit for aliens.
The Maiden – Super Victreebel
The ever-prepared and perpetually-anxious Virgo is perfectly encapsulated in Super Victreebel, the Mega with perpetual acid reflux. The zodiac symbol famous for being endearingly critical is strongly reflected throughout this creature's entire lineage, from a perpetually surprised expression like a Virgo when you inform them you don’t have a 401(k), to its upside-down face that’s just like the emoji a Virgo sends to the chatroom when all says they want to “go with the flow” rather than creating a strategy.
Libra – Super Audino
Look at this sweet, empathetic creature, who uses the sensors on its auditory organs to tell how people are feeling by their heartbeat. Consistently empathetic – occasionally to a fault – and striving to keep the harmony, there are numerous Libras who would likely appreciate Mega Audino’s skills. However, let’s be honest, it would probably just make them stress even more about everyone else.
Scorpio – Mega Banette
Banette is a creature with a surprisingly sad origin: Abandoned as a doll, it gained consciousness through sheer resentment and swore revenge on its former owner. According to the official info, Super Evolution, “increases its spitefulness.” That seems precisely like many conversations I’ve had with my scary Scorpion friends. A Scorpio loves cosmic justice and retribution, making them the ideal pair with Mega Banette.
Sagittarius – Super Hawlucha
Both Mega Hawlucha and Sagittarians are always putting on a show. As a Archer personally, the number of occasions I’ve referred to myself some variation of a “playful little jester” is innumerable. The most flamboyant and most obnoxious Mega Evolution, its Pokédex entry even notes how it “poses to show off its power.” I would do the very same thing if I had some kind of Mega evolved form, making Mega Hawlucha the most fitting Archer match I can imagine.
The Goat – Mega Absol
Were you aware that a Super Absol has the power to predict calamities ahead of time? That gives the exact same energy as a Capricorn, who tends to always believe they’re right. Interestingly, similar to a prophetic Mega Absol, they often are. It’s also the very initial Super Form that trainers meet in Legends: Z-A – just like a Capricorn to join the ground floor of the Super Form craze.
Aquarius – Mega Chandelure
Detached element Water Bearer is arguably the non-fire placement that is closest to a flame symbol – its counterpart is the Lion, and there are countless jokes about Sagittarius and Water Bearer being chaotic accomplices. Super Chandelure's double Ghost/Fire typing fits seamlessly with this, and the Super Form's general daunting aura is also very Aquarius. If you weren’t already convinced, the Super Form's Pokédex entry says it “draws in negative energy and converts it into power.” If that fails to perfectly {encaps
